Public contest for full-time postdoctoral position at CENDHY

Through the Science and Technology Research Ring Project, researchers are invited to participate in the public competition to provide a full-time postdoctoral position.

The postdoctoral position is aimed at Chileans or foreigners who wish to carry out research in the framework of the Ring Project ACT192144 “Novel drugs and drug delivery systems for the treatment of hypertension” established at the Center of New Drugs for Hypertension ( CENDHY), led by academics from the Universidad de Chile and Pontificia Universidad Católica under the PIA / ANID agreement.

The postdoctoral position is for full-time researchers with training in bioinformatics, molecular and computational chemistry, molecular modeling, structural prediction, or related disciplines to work on the interaction of peptide candidates with relevant proteins and polymer matrices as drug delivery systems. . The candidate must be fluent in Spanish and English, and have availability to start working from July 1, 2020.

Monthly allowance: 1,800,000 Chilean pesos, gross (considers part-time, 44 hours per week, and is equivalent to living expenses + health coverage). The payment method will be through a fee agreement with the University of Chile.

Duration: The postdoctoral position will be granted for a period of 12 months. The annual renewal will be subject to prior approval by the Director of the Ring Project, Dr. Javier O. Morales Montecinos.

Place of performance: The place of work will be the Faculty of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences of the University of Chile, in the city of Santiago. Postdoctoral candidates must be willing to carry out stays at the other Chilean universities participating in the project (Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and Universidad Andrés Bello), participate in monitoring the experimental development of research under the project, and as well as outreach activities to academic and non-academic audiences.

  • Applicant Presentation Form No. 1 (Includes CV, academic background and summary of Doctoral Thesis).
  • Simple photocopy of the doctor’s degree certificate, as well as its titles.
  • After receiving the background information, the candidate will be asked for an internet interview with the Selection Committee.

The Selection Committee will be made up of the Director of the ACT192144 Ring Project, Dr. Javier O. Morales, the deputy director Dr. Eduardo Soto, and the Principal Investigators Dr. María Paz Ocaranza and Dr. Jorge Jalil.
