CENDHY head researchers, Dr. María Paz Ocaranza and Dr. Jorge E. Jalil, belonging to the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, participated in publications included in the most recent edition of the Journal of the Chilean Society of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery ( SOCHICAR).

SOCHICAR ( www.sochicar.cl ) is a scientific and non-profit institution, founded in 1948, which brings together researchers and Accredited professionals in medicine, specialized in the study and treatment of arrhythmias, preventive cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, echocardiography, hemodynamics, angiography, heart failure, congenital heart disease, pediatric cardiology and cardiovascular risk factors. Every year, the Society publishes 3 issues of its Chilean Journal of Cardiology where it includes relevant research in basic science and clinical applications, in addition to reviews and special editions.

In the first issue of volume 39 of this year 2020 , the main researchers of CENDHY, Dr. María Paz Ocaranza and Dr. Jorge E. Jalil, were part of the research group of the article “Cardiac remodeling in the preclinical model of Falla Experimental cardiac ischemia due to dyslipidemia in the SR-B1 KO / ApoER61h / h mouse “together with Alejandra Lonis, Jackeline Moya, Attilio Rigotti and Luigi Gabrielli, from the Division of Cardiovascular Diseases and Department of Nutrition and Diabetes at the School of Medicine of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (Fondecyt 1161739), available at Publications .

In addition, Dr. Ocaranza and Dr. Jalil were part of the authors of the special article “Antihypertensives in patients with COVID-19” together with researchers Andrea Ramírez, Andrés Ramírez, Mario Chiong, Jaime Riquelme and Sergio Lavandero, affiliated with Advanced Center for Chronic Diseases ( ACCDiS ) and to the Cardiology Division of the Department of Internal Medicine of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (Dallas, Texas, USA), available at Publications .

The participation of CENDHY researchers in the edition of the Journal of the Chilean Society of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery is consistent with our center’s commitment to excellence in research and contribution to society, contributing to results based on scientific evidence and updating available information to guide cardiovascular disease patients to improve their quality of life.
